Namibia at the wheel — dune fields, wild Atlantic coast and the waterholes of Etosha, strung together on your own self-drive route with a new stop every few days.
Touch down in Windhoek and collect the keys to your self-drive vehicle — your home for the next nine days. Settle into your first overnight stop and ease into the pace of Namibia before the open road begins tomorrow.
Point the vehicle south-west toward the red dunes of Sossusvlei. Arrive at your desert lodge with time to spare — unpack, watch the light shift over the dune sea, and let the silence of the Namib settle in.
Rise early for the short drive into Sossusvlei itself. Walk the bone-white pan of Deadvlei among its centuries-old camelthorn trees, then take on Big Daddy — one of the tallest dunes in the world — for views worth every step of the climb.
Trade dunes for coastline on the drive to Swakopmund. Once you've checked in, stretch your legs with a walk along the beach and toast the day with a sundowner over the Atlantic.
A full day out of Swakopmund awaits, heading south to Walvis Bay and the towering dunes of Sandwich Harbour. Choose your own adventure for the afternoon — glide across the water on a kayaking excursion, or kick up sand on a dune-belt ATV tour.
Leave the coast behind and drive inland to Omaruru, a quiet stopover on the road north to Etosha. Unwind with a late-afternoon game drive as the bush comes alive in the golden hour.
Arrive at Etosha National Park and check in to one of its most iconic lodges. As evening falls, settle in with a sundowner and watch the African sky turn over the bush — a fitting welcome to one of the continent's great wildlife sanctuaries.
Spend a full day exploring Etosha's waterholes and open plains, where lion, elephant, zebra and wildebeest gather in scenes that feel lifted straight from the screen. Keep the camera close — this is Etosha at its most cinematic.
Begin the drive back to Windhoek. Hand the keys to your vehicle back and spend your final night in the capital, reflecting on nine days of dune, desert and bush.
A Brandit Africa team member will meet you for your transfer to Hosea Kutako International Airport, sending you off with everything you need for the journey home.
